Ryvo is a motorcycle ride-matching platform built and operated by Ryvo Ride (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Ryvo mobile application or website (the “Platform”), how we use it, and what rights you have.

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the Platform and contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of any data we may already hold.

1. Data we collect

Account and profile

  • Name, email address, phone number (optional)
  • Profile photo and bio

Riding profile

To power the matching engine, you provide attributes about yourself and your motorcycle:

  • Motorcycle details: type, manufacturer, model, year, engine displacement, transmission
  • Riding attributes: riding style, pace preference, skill level, years riding, highway comfort, riding region, riding philosophy, risk attitude, social energy, preferred group size, stop frequency, navigation role, post-ride hangout preference, shared activities, and lifestyle signals
  • Age range (a bracket, not your exact birth date)

Ride activity

  • Rides you create: title, description, start and end location (place name + GPS coordinates), route polyline, GPX file (if uploaded), photos, timestamps, approval mode, visibility setting
  • Rides you join or are invited to
  • Ratings and text reviews you give or receive after a ride
  • Connection requests you send or receive
  • System-inferred attributes derived from your ride history: average pace calculated from GPX uploads, total ride count, and ride completion rate

Technical data

  • IP address and browser/device user agent (stored in server session records)
  • Push notification device token (so we can deliver ride alerts to your device)
  • Crash and error reports sent automatically when the app encounters a problem

2. How we use your data

  • To operate your account — create and authenticate your account, let you manage your profile
  • To run the matching engine — compute compatibility scores between you and available rides, and surface honest friction signals
  • To facilitate rides — show your ride to other compatible riders, manage join requests and invitations, send ride notifications
  • To build trust between riders — display ratings, verify that ride hosts and participants are real accounts
  • To improve reliability — diagnose crashes, monitor API health, fix bugs
  • To respond to you — reply to messages you send us directly

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with the following third-party services that are necessary to run the Platform.

  • Google LLC — powers your sign-in via Google OAuth, renders maps in the app (Google Maps SDK), delivers push notifications to your device (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and collects anonymised usage events (Firebase Analytics). Google’s services are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — receives crash reports when the app fails. Reports may contain device information and sanitised application state. Sentry’s privacy practices are described in their Privacy Policy.
  • Mapbox, Inc. — receives location coordinates you enter when searching for or creating ride start and end points, to resolve those coordinates into place names and vice versa.

We may also disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Ryvo or its users.

4. Location data

The Ryvo app requests access to your device’s location (precise and approximate) to improve the accuracy of ride and rider matching — helping the Platform surface rides and riders that are geographically relevant to you. We do not continuously track or record your real-time location in the background.

The start location and destination of any public ride you create are visible to other Ryvo users.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

Crash reports forwarded to Sentry are subject to Sentry’s own retention schedule.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests

These rights apply under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Indonesian Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP No. 27 of 2022), and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU and believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Account and data deletion

To delete your account and all associated personal data, send a deletion request to [email protected] from the email address linked to your account. We will process the request and confirm deletion within 30 days.

Note that ride records you participated in may retain aggregated, anonymised information (such as the existence of a past ride) even after your personal data is removed.

8. Minors

Ryvo is not intended for anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 17. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
